My husband refuses to take his meds?

My husband of 10 years is a paranoid schizophrenic. He takes Thorazine and Risperdal. He up and decided today that he is not taking his medication because " Medications are a conspiracy of the president and all they are is a tool so the C.I.A. can read his mind". I am use to statements like that. I told him he will take his medication or I will divorce him. He just walked away and went into the bedroom. How can I convince him that he needs to take them. He refuses to speak to psychiatrists anymore because he claims they are "advocates to the conspiracy". I do not know what to do, I love my husband, but I cannot force him to take any meds. He is a 47 year old man.

I never thought of hiding his medication in food. That would be a good idea.

if your husband was an alcoholic and still drinking -- what would you do -- use the same reasoning when he won't take his meds
