No one knows exactly what causes most individuals to become psychopathic or sociopathic,however, many have common backgrounds. A large number of affected adults were abused and/or neglected as children. Many come from broken homes. In many cases one or both parents abuses drugs and/or alcohol. Children who are not able to feel safe with their parents, do not develop trust in or connectedness to their families , communities, or society.
