Stress and depression have ruined my social life,what can i do to change this?!


Question:

Stress and depression have ruined my social life,what can i do to change this?

I was once outgoing and i had friends,but now i have no
one, just myself.I'm sad alot of times,but yet i don't cry.
I've had stress and depression before,but not this bad
please share any helpful ways i can turn this around.

Oh hon, I feel for you...and I totally know what you are going through. Depression is the pits, isn't it? I think for me...it isn't all the depression itself that keeps me from being as social as I used to be...but the weight gain that I have experienced from being so depressed. However, I think that our solutions are the same.....basically, we just have to literally "make ourselves" get up and get out there in the world. Sounds awful, doesn't it? Of course, you can take the depression and anxiety meds...but for me, that didn't help. I have found that the more you get out...the easier it gets to continue to get out. We also have to remember that sometimes depression gets turned backwards in that...we say we are too depressed to go anywhere or do anything...yet we will feel "less" depressed if we get out and do something, lol. Good luck to you. Take it baby steps at a time! Make small plans to do each day until you get back to who you once were. Don't let the depression beat you my friend. Fight it with every inch of your being. Take it from someone who knows!
