I think im parnoid... help?!

Question:

I think im parnoid... help?

This does not happen every single time I go out but most of the time. Example: Say im going to the store, I always look around for cars to see if there sitting there watching me. And then, if i do see one i pay real close attention to it. Or if im in the store and i notice someone around me, i always think their watching me or their going to follow me. It bugs me really bad.. My mom said im just parnoid. but i dont know...
I always come to terms with it once im driving back to my house and i see that no one followed me. but still. Its like i cannot go to a store or even out without always thinking that.. any suggestions or help on whats wrong!

Answers:

From your description, I would certainly say that, yes, you are experiencing paranoia. The bigger question is, "Is this a symptom of a more serious mental illness?" That is definately worth having yourself evaluated. Especially if it is causing you as much distress as your description implies. Of course, this is a strong symptom of cocaine/meth or mary J use but, I would assume you would already be aware of that. Good Luck and do not be afraid to get yourself some help. Life is so much better without that kind of stress every day.
