WHat works after Zoloft?!
Question:
WHat works after Zoloft?
Ive suffered from depression since I was a teenager, I finally found help when I was 24 - my doctor put me on Zoloft. It was like a miracle, I had energy I finally had all those damn crying spells under control and best of all I also lost weight. The problem was that after about a year I felt nothing, the crying came back - the weigh was regained and I felt tired, lonely and useless. Here I am at 29 and find that my symptoms are getting worst, I sat in my car yesterday morning and cried for 45 minutes straight... not a quiet cry I balled like a hungry baby. Im wondering if anyone experienced what I went through and if so were their any other anti-depressants that worked as well but with longer effects? I dont want to start Zoloft again only to go through the roller coaster of feeling better and crashing when my body becomes used to it... INPUT PLEASE!

Unfortunately, many of us "wear out" good antidepressants. I've worn out a couple, including Zoloft. The good news is that there are others and you know that you can feel better. Trust me, you will feel better. I was on Prozac about 2 years and Zoloft about 5. Wellbutrin didn't work, but I've been on Effexor and Lexapro for 8 and am doing fine. Everyone has a different pattern, but we can all be helped. Don't despair.
My dad had depression in the 60's and the few medications they had then only made him like a zombie. He didn't feel bad because he didn't feel anything. We are so fortunate today.
See your doctor and tell her your symptoms. She'll recognize depression and try you on something else.
