Has anyone been the victim or been close to a victim of a stalker?

I have had more than one family member who has had experiences with stalkers. I am writing a book regarding this subject for a non-profit foundation that advises others how to deal with stalkers.

If anyone has a story to tell and would like to be cited in the book please let me know how to contact you so I can credit you as a source (can also be done anonymously - just need to confirm accuracy).

I once was stalked by a man who lived across the street and one house over in a 2-story house. He watched me through binoculars and would often, as I was getting into my car to leave for work, run over to my house and try to persuade me to take a vacation day to go somewhere with him. This lasted about 3 months. He also worked on a car in his yard and I would see him, at 2-3 am, sitting on the car watching my house with binoculars. I was only 25 and too naive to realize I might be in danger. Fortunately, his neighbor "Mike" found out what was happening and told the stalker, "Stop it or I'll beat the crap out of you."
