Anyone else get the "zaps" from their meds?!

Question:

Anyone else get the "zaps" from their meds?

i'm on an SSRI, and if i don't take it EVERYDAY, i get this zappy feeling in my head, like a circuit shorting out. it usually comes with some nausea and just a feeling of being out of it. if i start to feel this way, i will rush to take my meds with some gatorade, and i will usually have to take a nap. i've been on it for a good nine years, so my body is probably dependent. anyone else ever get this?

Answers:

Many such drugs are addictive to the human body in the sense that they get use to them and stop creating naturally what the drug has taken over for, so when you miss a day or try to go off htem, you literally feel a problem, what you call 'zaps'.

If you are trying to stop using them, I'd suggest you find a doctor who'll supervise your with drawl. You probably will have to take less and less over several months, so your body slowly learns to take over for the drugs and do what the drugs have been doing the past nine years.
