Prescription Drugs, do they create alter-ego's?!

Question:

Prescription Drugs, do they create alter-ego's?

More specifically, are prescription pain meds known to create an alter-ego in the user? Or do they just bring out a personality that may otherwise be hidden?

Answers:

The effect is not direct. Each drug is different. However, the answer to your question can generally be stated this way: psychoactive (mind-altering) drugs change the chemistry of the user's brain tissue. This can have a multitude of results, and it is important to note that we don't fully understand how the brain works so not all the changes can be fully understood; that said they will certainly be very likely to alter the user's personality, possibly permenantly, as well as affectign other brain functions such as memory, concentration, coordination, hearing, vision, and comprehension.
