How can I boost my self esteem?

When I got divorced, my self-esteem was at rock bottom. I saw a counselor who told me to write down 10 things that I liked about myself. Man that was hard . . . coming up with 10 things. But I did it. Then she told me to look in the mirror and repeat those ten things every morning when I got up and then again before going to bed. It sounds corny, but it really did help.
Get involved in something you're good at. I went back to college and excelled, which really boosted my self-esteem. Also, do volunteer work for a cause you believe in. It's amazing what "making a difference" can do for your self-esteem.
Remember, you're worth the effort!
