Feeling rejected -- is it him or his bipolar??
I met this guy over the internet on myspace. We got along so well. Loads of e-mails and phone calls. He is bipolar and is on meds (lithium, etc.). At first I felt weird about that but I decided not to judge. He came to visit me for a week in my city. It was amazing. Very romantic. He gushed the entire week about me... finding me... wanting to be with me. I felt the same. Then he went home has pretty much ignored me ever since. I sent him an e-mail saying I wanted to talk to him but he just wrote back that he was “sorry but he’s not feeling very well”. Nothing else. I know he’s been online because he keeps updating his profile. I sent him another e-mail asking very nicely if he was avoiding me – he read it but no response. I am heartbroken. I don’t understand much about severe bipolar – but I’m trying not to feel like it was me. Like he’s rejecting me. Any advice from any bipolar experienced out there? I can’t sleep, eat... it just does not make any sense to me. Thanks.

It COULD be his bi-polar. But it just as easilly could not be with that little information. Give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it is, then wait till he feels better and talk to him about it.
