My dad always accuses me of doing stuff i didnt do?

My dad is constantly accusing me of doing stuff that i dont do and i never did anything to lose his trust. this has gone on for about 6 years (since i was 11) and it is getting to the point that i think he has a mental illness or delusions or something because he says that he sees me doing stuff that i never would even think of doing. It is very very upsetting to me and he also tells my mom this stuff and i am afraid that she is starting to believe him too. she is in denial that he could have a problem or could be lying to her. i love my dad alot but this hurts my feelings so much and i dont know what to do.

Of what types of things is he accusing you? It could be that he is suffering a mental illness, such as paranoia. Does he have times where he is in a really good mood (maybe for a week or so), then others where he is depressed or angry? He could also be suffering hallucinations. This is a tough time for young adults your age - it isn't uncommon for teenagers to do stupid things and their parents get angry, and this may be the reason your mother is siding with your father. There's no real way to know what's going on, but assuming you are being honest, and not doing the things of which your father accuses you, the only way is to have him go see a doctor or something. Is he having any other signs and symptoms of mental illness? How old is he? Schizophrenia usually hits in the late teens to twenties. If there is something wrong with him, maybe just try to stay out of his way and not fight him when he accuses you - if he "knows" you are doing something wrong, no amount of arguing is going to persuade him otherwise. Good luck with your situation. Maybe you could talk in confidence to your mother or school counselor about your concerns.
