things are to the point at which the marriage is literally dead. because of his instability, etc., i no longer wish to be in this relationship, but i also care about his mental well being. should i ask him to leave or should i take our 13 year old and leave? he says he is willing to split up, but then he changes his mind all the time. he's been miserable ever since we got married 4 years ago. p.s. he's on medication, but is not emotionally stable.

I would contact NAMI, the National Alliance for the Mentally illl- they have resources for families. However, you should of course go on with your divorce, making sure you have a safety plan in place for you, your child, and him.
