Anyone know what the warning signs of a nervous breakdown?

Hey everyone, i need to know what the 'warning signs' are for someone that's about to have a nervous breakdown...

See, i work with a guy that had one about 3 years ago. I've never brought it up around him because i've heard it's a touchy subject. he actually quit his job then. Well, now he's back and he's super-stressed. Lately i've noticed he does odd things, like laughs at *everything* that goes wrong (i constantly hear the 'ding' of his computer when he gets an error message, followed by about 15 more 'dings' and chuckles). He also zones out at his desk a lot. He seems like a very calm person, but i'm sorta worried that one of these days he's going to blow! Anyone have any ideas of what i should look out for?? I'd like to not be here if/when it happens!!!

hahaha, yeah i guess i sorta made it sound like he's a stoner, but he's not... it's more of a 'crazy' laugh than a 'high' laugh. =)
