What does this dream mean?!

What does this dream mean?
My sister is my backyard playing with neighborhood kids, it is very muddy, but then I can her a rather ominus sounding dog approaching the backyard. I am in my bedroom window telling her to run. The dog is a yellow/tanish color when it appears it is just a shaggy dog, but it sits next to my sister in the begining then it attacks her. I want to go and help but I cant move. I ask my husband to to go and help her, he grabs a bat but never appears in the yard. The dog attacks her and when it moves her eyes are open looking in the distance. I awake from the dream only to fall back to sleep a time later and return to the very same dream. My dad calls to tell me that 'it was short, she didn't make it', I began to cry uncontrolably , when I awoke again the dream felt more of a reality? What does this mean? I hope some can shed some light on this. I feel I need to warn my sister of something...but I don't want to scare her for no reason. How come I couldn't move to help?
Answers:
It sounds like she is in some kind of danger of getting hurt, but not necessarily dying. The dog could represent someone that she trusts & is going to end up hurting her & in the long run she will not be the same after that. The experience could be life changing for her. I would tell her about the dream. But first you might want to go to the library & check out a book about dreams.
