Can you take Imitrix with Prozac?

I take Prozac for depression. I am giving a retirement party and am worried about getting a migraine and was wondering if i can take imitrix. I have a prescription for it.

There are many people who take this combination safely. A very small percentage of people who take this combination experience something called serotoninergic syndrome, which can include agitation and jitteriness. It's because Prozac (fluoxetine) boosts the amount of serotonin between brain cells that use this chemical to communicate. On top of that, the Imitrex (sumatriptan) stimulates the brain cells' chemical receptors for serotonin. Thus, there is a double activation, which again, for most people is not a problem.
