Always counting and thinking non-stop?!
Question:
Always counting and thinking non-stop?
Okay, honestly, I find myself counting squares as i walk or light poles while driving. I also get into a beat to make sure I walk or drive at a steady pace, counting steps per square, the lines on the floor. i also make clicking noises with each step and count. I don't think I am a genius, but humbly, I will say most friends and family members tell me I am pretty intelligent. I always see things that are obvious to me, but others don't see it. My mind races 100mph. I have self-diagnosed myself with ADHD, but if i concentrate, I can control it as I am aware of it--sometimes I hear the noise and see the bird fly by, but I focus not to turn my head :) My question is: I don't think this is normal but do others do these things and area always thinking. I don't drink more than 12 oz of soda a day, and not past 12noon. Otherwise, I will never sleep. Is there anyone else out there that does this?

It's not Autism. I am totally the social, talkative type. Yeah, there is some OCD in there. I will check all my locks and windows every night, lay down and then think I forgot one and check them all again. Not taking any medication. I find that I don't like medication. I rarely take even aspirin/tylenol, because I can actually think my most of headaches away.

I am 35 yrs old. It started when I was about 25 and just grew. First, it was just always counting, then the clicking, the obsession with 13, then the OCD and checking lights. Now at work, I am easily bored after 1-2 yrs. I have mastered the job (or at least as much I desire to) and then move on. One of you mentioned finding things in multiples of 5 or 10. I have to find how everything equals 13. Which for the most part, I eventually find it. I work at an idea or a number until it equals 13.
112 = 1+12 = 13
1831 = 1+8+3+1 = 13
82841 = (((8^2)-8)/4)-1 = 13
OR
82841 = (8*2)-8+4+1=13
