Answers:

I am bipolar and was diagnosed 2 years ago. there are many different types of bipolar disorder. Bipolar 1 is severe, with manic episodes and depression. A manic episode for me is where I just cant think straight, I often spend a lot of money that I really dont have and I cant often seem more talkative, hyper and extremely outgoing. But when I am depressed it is often a deep depression, most of the time for no reason and it is very hard to pull myself out of this state. People that are Bipolar 2 have hypomanic episodes and still experience depression. Their hypomania can seem almost like a good thing, people tend to get a lot of work done and can be very focused at times. There is also rapid cycling Bipolar which I can do to. It is where you switch back and forth from manic and depression at a fast rate.

Just because youre symptoms arent as severe as others with Bipolar doesn't mean you dont have a form of Bipolar disorder as well. Mental disorders are only classified as disorders when they start to interfere with your daily life and it becomes harder to preform normal tasks without these symptoms "controling" who you are and how you preform.

I never had to take a test, I was offered by my Pysch Doc but he told me that if I was his sister he would start treating my symptoms immediately because they can get worse without proper medication.

If you dont have insurance you should try to apply for Medicaid so you can get the help you need.

Good Luck.
