What is your opinion on people with bipolar?!

Question:

What is your opinion on people with bipolar?

If you were to find out someone was bipolar would you be weary of them? Would you define them as their disorder or would you look past the disorder and see them for who they are and understand that the just have a minor problem. Would you not date someone just because they had bipolar? If you were in a relationship and then found out that your partner was bipolar would you break up with them or look at them differently? Would you start to treat him/her differently or would you see everything they did as being a part of their disorder? Like what is your overall opinion if you were to find out someone you knew had bipolar?

Answers:

Having bipolar disorder is not a handicap. It is only a minor problem that can be easily treated with meds and therapy. Someone with this trait just needs to learn how to control it. The rollercoaster of moods that goes along with bipolar disorder is no big deal as long as it doesn't pose a threat to the individual or others.

I work with people who have many different kinds of personality disorders. It's always important to remember that each individual is unique, no matter who it is. Being bipolar is just another characteristic one my have...it's not grounds for judgment.
