How can I get help after an abusive childhood- please read below?

I grew up in a home that was very unstable. My dad often took a shotgun and shot our pet dogs in the head right in front of us if he was tired of them. He once put a shotgun to my mother's head and threatened to kill her while I was standing right there. He molested my younger sister and is a convicted felon and has spent much of his life in jail. He has wrecked into cop cars, done crazy things, and beat and abused us growing up. He would hit us, kick us, throw knives at us, pop us with rags, call us names, pull us by the hair, etc. One time he grabbed me by my necklace and pulled on it until I almost choked while he was telling me really terrible things. He threatened to hurt us or "put us in jail" when we were "bad." He is a drug addict and has done numerous, numerous things to hurt us. My parents divorced when I was 15 years ols. I have 2 brothers and one sister. I am 23 years old. I recently graduated college through trying my best. I have terrible nightmares and memeories. Help?

After all of that cr*p in your life you still went ahead with no excuses & graduated college.

There's no doubt that the stuff you mentioned here is going to affect anyone in a strong, & often negative way. It's not likely that you will get all of the help you need at Yahoo Q&A either.
You deserve to be given a chance, the best chance possible. To assure that, you would probably do best by seeking out a professional councellor of some kind.

Here's something for you to start working on. Just remember that what is in the past, is now GONE. The future hasn't happened yet, so try to stay focused on the present.

It sounds like you have it pretty good in the present here & now, so enjoy it. ;-)
