Do you think antidepressants can cause a dependancy (more inside)?

I don't mean as in they are addictive, but do you think coming off antidepressants you can end up even more depressed than before going on them, so that you end up needing to stay on them forever just to feel normal?

Thanks guys, I think it's because I stopped cold turkey and then ended up suicidal and was almost admitted. Now I'm back on them and feeling much better. So if I want to come off, I will be doing it gradually next time. Thanks for all the answers.

I think that as long as you come off them properly and dont withdraw too quickly and that you are at the right time in your life to be doing it in terms of how sorted you are with your things that may have depressed you - you are more likely to do it successfully!
