Yes, it's an established fact. Drugs can cause people to have psychosis (hallucinations and paranoia), depression, and anxiety. The effects are usually temporary, though.
LSD can't cause Schizophrenia, but it can cause somebody to have "flash backs" (unexpected hallucinations). That would be classified as "Hallucinogen Related Psychotic Disorder" which is not the same as Schizophrenia. They will have similar psychotic symptoms but people with flashbacks aren't always going to have the restricted emotions, disorganized thinking social withdrawal of schizophrenia.
