How do I tell my parents that I want to see a counselor?!

How do I tell my parents that I want to see a counselor?

Well, for my age I have a pretty tough life. I really want to see a counselor but I know that my parents can't afford it and if I tell them they will think that something is wrong with me because I can't tell them how I feel.
If I see the counselor at school, all of my friends will know, and I am afraid that they will think that I'm mental or something because they always say stuff that pretty much says that people who go to see counselors are weird or they are crazy.
I have been having to hide my whole life from everyone out of fear that no one will like me. My father went to jail for drugs, my mom had me when she was 16, i never ever see my stepdad, my family is poor, and i have ADD, and signs of OCD and Torrete syndrome. i need to talk to someone that will understand because i told one of my friends everything, and now she is afraid of me and wont come to my house anymore.
I feel really dumb for having to come on the internet for answers bcuz i cant tell my parents...pls help!!!

thnx to all of u that are answering...it really helps. the "false thoughts" thiing doesnt anger me, but i dont think i will use it. oh and Tacit Rainbow, im only 12. im not gonna do something like that.

seeing your school counselor is the best step for you in your situation. he/she is bound by law so your friends will only find out if you tell them (and if they are truly your friends-they will be loving and supportive of your situation).

the school counselor can set you and your family up with free counseling in your community which will be a wonderful help for you!!

you shouldn't have to deal with this on your own and at such a young age!!
