Is it possible to get high on a hallucinogenic drug and never really come back?!

Question:

Is it possible to get high on a hallucinogenic drug and never really come back?

I don't feel like I have a strong grasp on reality, if I smoke pot, I go completely nuts and people think I'm on something else. Yea, it's not good. I don't smoke it, but when I have, I've always come back just fine.

But I'm wondering about LSD or smoke salvia divinorum (salvia is legal), can it trigger a sort of psychotic episode because of the stress, where a person doesn't come back the same?? I don't want drug propaganda. True stories only please. No D.A.R.E. sources.

Oh, I've done shrooms which I like much more than pot and I've done e, no problems there. I was just curious.

I'm most likely never going to do LSD.

As for Salvia, maybe not, definitely not any time soon. I'm just curious.

Answers:

It's possible, but not common for people to be permanantly changed from experimenting with drugs. Ususally it only happens when the person already has the genes for a mental illness and the drugs bring it out.

LSD is the most likely drug to induce a permanant psychiatric disorder. Go read about Syd Barret, the original founder of Pink Floyd. He did too much acid and developed schizophrenia because of it. They stopped bringing him to concerts because his illness got so severe and he missed out on having a music career.

I think Salvia is safe. I've looked, but there aren't any reports of people having permanant damage from using it. There's evidence that it can actually treat depression.

Your problem with weed is actually common. Some people are just really sensitive and get paranoia or hallucinations from using it. Be careful what you experiment with and always have a friend nearby to look after you if you're doing something new.
