i did that for a while, until one day i cut so deep that i severed an artery in my arm.
this is serious. instead of the need to see blood and feel pain, get some canvases and some paints. buy thick oily paints and pallette knives, not small dinky brushes. lock your room and look at your arms, then look at the canvas. project what you feel and the emotions you have onto the canvas.
paint an image, and make it dark and grim, and cry while you paint. turn the music up loud and talk to the canvas. express yourself with the paint.
I mean it, this is a really good way to let out your emotions. put the paint on really thick and make an image.
then everytime you feel like cutting, draw a picture or paint. take notes of when and why you felt what you did. you should make a diary of it and produce a series of paintings. you could make an exhibition and help others who feel the pain we went through. i stopped what i did and now i paint pictures i love. Don't knock it till you try it. people dont understand, but the canvas is something that understands you...
I wish you well...
