Is there a way for your body to willingly induce sleep?!

Question:

Is there a way for your body to willingly induce sleep?

I have trouble sleeping. I somethimes take nearly 45 minutes to fall asleep. I am fourteen, so my age is probably not affecting it. I do not drink soda and I limit my sugar, so that is not a problem. I am not suffering from stress; school is out for the summer and I have friends at my house daily.

My question is this: Can I induce sleep manually? Can I do something with my body that causes my to fall asleep? I do not want to damage my body or mind, so please do not say, "Throw rocks at you head," or, "Hold your breath and faint."

You answers will be incredibly helpful by restoring a tired mind.

Thank you in advance. =)

Answers:

Imagine each part of your body falling asleep starting at your feet. It takes a lot of conentration, but after enough practice it slows down your heart rate and makes you fall asleep. Think of nothing else but your body parts if you do it will not work.
