Worrying is like being a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but doesn't get you anywhere. It is scary to think about death of loved ones, but worrying about it just takes away from the happy times.

Whenever you catch yourself thinking about this gently begin to think of something else. It can be as simple as what you're going to do the next time you spend time with your parents or how you can make sure they know how much they mean to you through simple things like making them dinner or just going on a walk.

Cherish your time with your parents and loved ones because it's a very special thing, don't make the focus that a lifetime is finite. Also, try to stay active with your parents- this could be good for your health and their health and will help take your mind off things. I suggest exercising while listening to music some of the time when you have these thoughts.

As for having trouble sleeping, I'd say wind yourself down about a half hour before bed. Relax and do something enjoyable. Realize that your thoughts guide your actions and emotions to a high degree, so in order to alter your emotions you need to recognize the control you have over your thoughts. Think happy thoughts.

Godspeed =)
