Just how dangerous is Focalin xR?
I'm 16, 140 lbs. I starting taking it in May of 2006, beginning with 10mg. After two months, I was put on 20mg (max dose). It's been great for me. I've been getting better grades, I can focus better, I handle peer pressure better, and I've been feeling better about myself. Even my teachers have told my parents I started to show significant change in the last quarter of freshman year (last year, when I started to take Focalin xR).
I have experienced loss of appitite, anxiety, blurred vision, and all that normal stuff. But it's not really severe to me. Maybe it's because I'm mature enough to handle the side effects? I've seen so many horror stories about ADD/ADHD medications, such as Focalin xR. The thing is, I've been performing better as a person since I started taking the medication. I've thought about terminating my prescription for Focalin xR 20mg, but I don't want to go back to the way I was before the meds.
Does anyone have any advice? Suggestions are appriciated.

these could simply be some of the normal side effects of the meds, if things really are that bad you should see your doctor. Most meds have side effects to what degree depends on the person as we are all different and react differently to meds. never just stop taking your meds with out consulting your doctor first take care good luck
