Is there REALLY any diffenerce between ADD and ADHD?!

Question:

Is there REALLY any diffenerce between ADD and ADHD?

Answers:

It depends if you are talking about the "street" usage of the word or if you mean clinical language, what psychiatrists would actually call it.

Technically everything is called ADHD these days ("ADD" is no longer found in the diagnostics manual) however there are some people who have it for whom hyperactivity is not one of their prominent symptoms. The technical classification for this is:

"Predominantly Inattentive Type ADHD"--That's what I've got.

OK, whoever negged me, People just neg an answer without knowing what they are talking about. Here is the alphabetical list of disorders from the DSM IV show me where Attention Defecit appears without hyperactivity.

299.8 Asperger's Disorder
314.9 Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivit... Disorder NOS
314.01 Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivit... Disorder, Combined Type
314.01 Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivit... Disorder, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type
314 Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivit... Disorder, Predominantly Inattentive Type
299 Autistic Disorder
