So Confused?!

Question:

So Confused?

Hey,
I had a mental breakdown about 5 weeks ago and my psychiatrist sees me twice a week.
But today I seemed to have snapped.
I have a 5month old baby who I have to get up to each and everyday and no-one to take him for a day or two, and no child care centers will take a baby his age.

What can I do?

I've told my psy so many times I need more help then her and she hasn't seemed to have listened...

I feel like I need to get away from everyone and everything for a month or two.
I can't even stand to be around my son anymore.

Do I need to go to a psyc hospital to get fixed?

I know alot of people say this is post partum but it's not!
Im an 18 year old mother with enough money and shouldn't have a worry in the world!

Please someone try and make sence of me!

Answers:

I suffer from depression. I cannot diagnose you as I am not a Dr. and would not try. I can tell you from experiences that I have seen that it does sound like post-partum depression or depression but either way I would say yes you need to go into a hospital for treatment. I saw a mom who was completely stressed out and needed a break such as yourself and she was inpatient and she was given a few weeks to get on some new meds and had time to talk to a therapist and then her child was brought in at different times to see her and they got to spend time with each other and by the time she left things were great. If you are questioning if you need to go into a hospital then you more than likely do and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You will feel better and in the long run it will help the relationship out between you and your child and you will be able to have a strong bond. I hope you get the help you need and I wish you the best~
