hi i was just wondering if you were able to drink alcohol whilsttaking an anti depressant, the one i have been prescribed is efexor in the ssri class, i'm not talking about all day benders or nothing just a couple drinks of a night after the kids are in bed? thanks

i am on effexor xr and have been for the last ten years,it is not recomended to drink while on this medication.however,after speaking with my therapists at length on the subject of alcohol he recomends that a drink here and there will do you no harm.everything in moderation.a couple a drinks a night is definitly
out of the question,you should be looking more on the lines of a couple a drinks a week at the most.
