Are there any hollistic treatments for schitzophrenia?

From my experience working with people that have schizophrenia I have found that it is often caused by a traumatic experience that the person couldn't handle. Talking to someone you trust to help work out the painful experience is the best treatment. The hard part is that sometimes the experience is hard to remember or the person doesn't want to remember because they have trouble accepting it.
It takes desire, hard/painful work, an open mind and a good friend. I have seen much success from this alone. Personally I find that the psych meds that they give patients to only temporarily cover symptoms at best, but does not cure any part of schizophrenia.
