Shaking in my sleep?!

Question:

Shaking in my sleep?

Last night I had a friend over, and she woke me up soon after we fell asleep to tell me that I was shaking really badly and asked if i was okay. I had no idea I was shaking. Usually while falling asleep I wake up and feel like my whole body is shaking, but it's really not.I have an anxiety disorder, so I know that is anxiety. But people can't usually feel it when i'm shaking. I don't have breathing problems or any (known) sleep disorders. I never sleep very well at night, but I never have. I'm a healthy, 17 year old kid. I have no idea why this happenes. Any suggestions?

Answers:

It could be a sleep disorder. See your neurologist, your general practitioner should be able to refer you to one. This may be a seizure or something worse. Your body is telling you there is something wrong, get it checked out.
