Im currently on 'venlaflaxine efexor 75mg a day and my Dr has suggested Prozac 2!

Im currently on 'venlaflaxine efexor 75mg a day and my Dr has suggested Prozac 20mg, should I swap?

Well it depends on how well Effexor is working for you. Effexor works on both Serotonin and Nor epinephrine, the 2 neurotransmitters believed to be responsible for depression and anxiety. Prozac only work with Serotonin. If the Effexor is working, I would think that might be a difficult transition. I if the Effexor is not working for you, on the other hand, try the Prozac, and if that doesn't work keep going, because there are lots of choices out there!
