Have you had a bad experience because of Prozac or another SSRI?!

Question:

Have you had a bad experience because of Prozac or another SSRI?

And I mean from your use or from the use of these drugs by a person close to you? (Luvox, Lexapro, Celexa, Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, Effexor..)
My daughter went on Effexor, and she is unrecognizable. She and I were always close. She has a Ph.D. She was a really hard-working, loving person. She had a sad experience (wedding called off) and was put on Effexor. Now she hates me; she cuts herself; she beat me up. It's insane; it's so different from any which way she was before. She has such a short fuse, and she yells at everyone.
Please let me know what you think about my experience and any experiences you may have had--with these drugs.

Although I appreciate all and any kindness and helpfulness, I know much about these drugs and about the lack of their being used.
Please notice that I am asking for YOUR experiences because of them. Thank you. Have YOU had a bad experience either because of someone else's use or your own?????

Answers:

On Paxil for 6 years. Six years because it was so addictive, I could not get off it. I had no idea it was addictive when I started! It took me almost 2 years to get off it and begin tto feel "normal"-- I still work hard to get my life back. I think in another 6-9 months I will feel totally recovered, so that will make it nearly 3 years to recover from it.

On it, I suffered side effects- RLS, shaking, unable to walk a straight line. Before Paxil, I went from being a single working woman (a managerial position), semi-vegetarian, organic-eating healthy type with great credit record and money, weighing a firm132 to a fat 210 pound smoker, in an abusive relationship and lost everything- my job, my retirement accounts --everything.
It effected my entire being. Impulse control was gone, "street smarts" was gone. I let people take advantage of me because I as basically high.

I was given Paxil for the anxiety I felt when my parents divorced, I was under pressure at work, my best friend moved away, and a relationship ended. I don't believe I needed drugs to deal with normal life but I listened to some stupid doctor.
I'm sorry for your daughter.
