How to deal with a bipolar-self centered personality?!

Question:

How to deal with a bipolar-self centered personality?

My older brother has always been one to only care about himself and does everything his own way. Only since i was born he has gone out of his way to provoke arguments and get me upset. 3 years ago we found out he was bipolar. He is medicated but still his personallity is IMPOSSIBLE to be around. It not only the way he talks, its how he acts, what he does and how he handles situations. I have tryed everything from ignoring the situations, to yelling back, and leaving seems to be the only thing that works. Only problem is I cant be gone forever and he continues to get in my space. My parents just ignore it and say I should too, but I believe "Enough is Enought" and i need a solution. Any ideas opinions etc. are welcome.

Answers:

That's a tough situation. If your parents aren't taking your opinion of the situation into account, maybe they'd listen to another adult. Talk to a neighbor, family friend, or counselor at school that you trust, and see if they can give you some advice or talk to your parents on your behalf. Good luck.
