Zyprexa and HUNGER?!

Question:

Zyprexa and HUNGER?

My dr just started me on zyprexa this week. I am already starting to feel the hunger pains. What can I do to avoid the weight gain I keep reading about. It has taken me 2 months to lose 9 pounds and I really don't want to gain it back plus more. I am only 5'4" and currently weigh 124. Still trying to lose at least 4 more pounds, but I don't think that's going to happen taking this drug.
Any suggestions?

Answers:

the doctors i consulted regarding zyprexia all agreed that its the increase of appetite that is causing you to eat more and gain the weight .ive seen people loseall the weight gain after they got off themedicine...zyprexia in many cases causes drowsiness so not only are you eating more but you tend to sleep or have more naps...if youve maintained your weight so far perhaps take a break from the zprexia before the hunger pains get uncontrollable you can always get back on it again if your mood swings get unbearable....no harm taking a break from zyprexia...but just in case keep some valium available or anyother tranqulizer though they r not the same
they do help getting off the zprexia
