Are there more ways of looking for work other than newspapers, magazines, jobs websites and hanging about on street corners waving down people in cars?
Answers:
go to job fairs that specialize in your field of employment, go through the phone book and look at local companies where you live for your career and take a resume and apply at these places, and also talk to friends and family who just might know someone who is hiring (you know networking)
