Considering I don't know what type of depression you were diagnosed with. I'm sure it's all the same when psychotic or delusional factors are present. The fact that you have seen a psychiatrist for an evaluation and received a diagnosis tells me that most likely you have been prescribed some type of medication. Now, whether or not you complied with whatever treatment plan is beyond me. Any clinical depression left untreated or under treated has the potential to introduce paranoid thoughts if it is severe enough. If you don't take medication, thats an easy problem to solve. If you take medication as prescribed, it probably means you are under medicated. If you developed paranoid thoughts after a while of taking a certain drug it could also be the culprit. Talk with your Pdoc if you haven't already, he may add a neuroleptic to an antidepressant if your taking one to complement it. If you have already been through all this you may have to experiment with a cocktail of drugs to see what the right combination is. Give the drugs adequate time to reach it's full effect. If it's not cutting it for you, try something else.

Paranoia is a real feeling. Though it is a false sensation, it is real enough to disturb you, in that sense. It also depends on the depth of it. Sounds kind of like me, I consider myself in a mid-state delusional. I still have enough sense to realize that at least some of my suspicions are “illogical”. It does make sense though, the older one gets, the more experience they gain. From a child's perspective there is no evil. Human nature becomes more well-defined as we age. I think thats true for everyone to some extent. Then again it all comes down to how “high” our awareness is and what society as the majority consider a deviation of what a normal thought process is.
