I need help????

Answers:

Alan Brown, the author of The Deja Vu Experience, believes that scientists can idenity its triggers by creating an illusion of familiarity within study subjects -- one that approximates spontaneous episodes of daja vu. The book refers to the "dual processing" theory, for example, holds that deja vu happens when two cognitive processes are momentarily out of sync. Another theory says that deja vu occurs when a memory we've consciously forgotten (whether from real life, a book, a film, or even a dream) connects with a part of our present experience. Or, it could be an attention slip: our brain quickly takes in a scene without our noticing. Then, we do become aware of what we perceive, it feels familiar - not because we've seen it before, but we've already processed it on another cognitive level.

That's Alan Brown's take...his book is pretty good. I also personally think Deja Vu may have something to do with dissociation. Dissociaton is a state of acute mental decompensation in which certain thoughts, emotions, sensations, and/or memories are compartmentalized because they are too overwhelming for the conscious mind to integrate. This subconscious strategy for managing powerful negative emotions is sometimes referred to as "splitting", as these thoughts, emotions, sensations, and/or memories are "split off" from the integrated ego. This use of the word "splitting" here should not be confused with references to splitting mentioned with regard to borderline personality disorder or family relations theory.

For you personally, I don't think your problem is medical. It may be there are things in your past you don't want to be with. It may simply be that you're brain processes more quicky or differently than other people. If it really is bothering you, you should see a psychologist rather than a doctor. Good luck!
