What do i do about being treated for depression?!

Question:

What do i do about being treated for depression?

i'm pretty sure im depressed. or having very low moods. i was dumped 6months ago, and there was alot of emotion and many confusing things to go with it. recently i heard some bad news about the ex having a new gf. i feel so crap. do i talk to my GP about this? i feel kind of stupid to say im depressed, as i dont feel like killing myself or anything but i cant stop crying and i really do feel low. is this serious enough to bother the gp with?

Answers:

talk to your famly doctor first. then follow his/her advice. he/she may want you to see a therapist for a little while to get you past this depression. also he/she may want to put on a anti-depressant for a short time period. break ups are very hard to handle and you go through all the stages that you would go through as if someone has died ,as in deed something has. a relationship. it just takes some time too. please seek some help soon so that this doen't wind up taking control of your life.
