Mental Health Question?
I have insurance but it will be dropped in a month or so. I have issues with my mental health. I want to put myself in a hospital before I am forced to go in against my will. What happens once my insurance drops? Will they kick me out? Are there any hospitals that are state funded for people without insurance? I live in PA. I just don't want to start the process and get halfway thru and not be able to finish what needs to be done to get well. Any advice appreciated.

I used to live in Pa (York County) and 95% of the hospitals are not-for-profit. If you are involuntarily commited (as I have been) you are NOT responsible for the bill. The state paid for mine until I signed voluntary commitment papers while still in patient. All hospitals have a department with social workers who visits patients with little and/or no insurance. They have lists (tons) of resources for financial assistance.
