How would I go about curing myself of autism? I am pretty sure mine is the resu!

Question:

How would I go about curing myself of autism? I am pretty sure mine is the result of nurture, not nature.?

I am a 22 year-old male, and as long as I can remember have had symptoms of autism. When I was little I saw a therapist because I didn't talk. I have always had a very high IQ score, am overwhelmed by social interaction, loud noises, was obsessed with anime, etc. The usual stuff. I am majoring in computer science in college and am sick of being around other high-functioners. I can't stand them, they are abusive, and being around them only makes me lonlier. My parents are liberal, insincere children, teachers as professions, and I have NEVER told them "I love you." I have never felt any attachment to them. I have read about "refrigerator mothers" and it makes perfect sense to me-- my father's a timid man without personality and my mother's a cold, anxious narcissist. My dad is hardly masculine and my mom is hardly feminine. When I am around them I become nervous and depressed. I want to get away from them and relive my childhood with open, nurturing parents.

What to do?

Answers:

You need to get yourself to a therapist.

I don't know if you are autistic, but anyone would need a therapist in your situation.

You can't cure autism, it is a neurological difference. Many would argue that it is NOT a disorder, but a difference.

That being said, it is true that people who are autistic or have those tendencies do have difficulty in social situations and can easily get overwhelmed.

Usually colleges or university have some kind of counseling or referral service. Go ASAP. There is no reason for you to suffer unnecessarily.
