Do you believe repeating a mantra 10,000 times can help you break or create habi!

Question:

Do you believe repeating a mantra 10,000 times can help you break or create habits?

For example, if you chanted "I do not enjoy smoking. Cigarettes and their smell make me naseous" 10,000 times you would believe it, and could quit smoking (albeit still suffering nicotine withdrawal).

Or, "I enjoy cauliflower. Cauliflower is sweet and delicious" you could program yourself to believe you enjoy cauliflower.

Do you believe this works?

Answers:

Personally, I don't believe it works unless the person is a very young child or very easily led.

When I was 2 or 3, I used to love to take a sip of my grandfather's beer. My grandmother didn't think I should be doing that, so she used to tell me that beer was icky and make me repeat it. Eventually, I decided that it was gross and I wasn't going to drink it any more. It worked when I was 3, but it wouldn't work now.
