Once you're off paxil, how long do withdrawals last?

been taking paxil on/off for 8 years.

getting off it slowly with pshychiatrist's permission.

looking for other ppl's experience weening off paxil.

When I took Paxil I became pregnant and had to stop taking it immediatley.

I went into complete withdrawal...heart beating erratically, shortness of breath (could be cause my heart was beating so fast). I was terrified. Those symptoms lasted about 5 hours, but the long lasting effects are mental and emotional. Some people need anti-depressants. It is a fact of life.

I now take Lexapro and it works much better for me than Paxil ever did. No side effects.
