im 18 and just graduated hs. im going to be attending Georgia State University on August 20, 2007. the problem is that Ive yet to get a girlfriend. I've tried numerous time and have gotten subtly or in one instance TOTALLY blown off, despite me getting girls numbers in which case they never return my calls or dont pick up in which they then feel awkward around me.im not a bad lookin fuy im in shape,get good grades,and have goals/dreams/aspirations and Drive. since i was little ive seen my mother abused and beaten by my father and our relationship has and hasnt gotten any better. my dads an alcoholic till this day but doesnt hit anymore. i think my psychological perspective is the cause of my not getting a date or develop relationships.my days just consist of stayin at home listening to music and watching tv. is there something wrong with me as a person.will things look up. my dream is to become a psychologist and help troubled people like me one day.

You should worry less about getting a " girl friend" and concentrate on your own dreams and aspirations. You are still a baby and have so much time to be with woman. You need to take control of your child hood issues deal with them and let them go. You should make sure that you are happy with yourself and always be your self, and one day the right girl is going to come out of no where and bam it will happen. don't rush it
