Are computer software jobs hazardous to intellectual/mental health ?
I hear often that software, esp softw engg, logics, debugging, jobs are more taxing to the intellect. They can be deleterious, hazardous if they job is more than 3 hours per day. In fact people work from 10am to 10pm. Is it true many suffer from stress, and serious mental problems, and are there cases of drug addiction.are they not able to enjoy the good pay and environement? some say they cannot work for more than 10 yrs at a stretch? what did u hear what do u feel ?

I worked in it for 20 years and then due to genetic predisposition became disabled from the stress of doing the programming job of 3 engineers, If I had proper help when needed I probably would still be working - I worked 10+ hours a day and had to come home and take care of a house and children
