Should i smoke?!

Should i smoke?

Ok...im really stressed out right now & depressed and i think im going thru teen pressure...all of my friends smoke and im thinking of starting tomm... im still thinking about it, all of them told me that it relaxes you and keeps the stress away...i dont know...should i or not, i mean i just want to try it out! But i have been the good one all my life. Dont know what to do!

Dont tell me to go talk 2 someone because im not close to any of my friends or family and im not comfortable to talk to a therapist because its weird to open up to a total stranger and i tried it but it didnt work!

No. Absolutely not. I know that you are aware of the dangers of smoking, and they are absolutely, 110% a reality. Even social smokers increase their risk of cancer by 50%. And the consequences of smoking can follow you long after you've quit. (My grandfather just died of cancer after having two heart surgeries, all related to smoking - which he'd quit 25 years earlier.)

There are much smarter ways to deal with your stress. Join a gym. Take up an art class. There are healthy alternatives. Stress is not healthy, and smoking is not a health option for dealing with it.

Obviously you're having doubts, otherwise you wouldn't be asking people's opinions about it. Those who want to do things do them. Please make the smart choice, the one that you know is the best for you, not just now but in the long run.
