What is a counselor and what does it do? Why would someone on yahoo suggest that you see a counciler?
Why wouldn't they be accountable and just give me their best guess. if they can spend their whole morning on yahoo they can at least answer my question. not tell me to see a councelor
NOTE: Accountability is a term used by councelors. I have more knowledge about "counceling" than some of you will have accumulated in your life time.

Of course I don't know of the previous situation that you're talking about, but as a student being trained in psychology I'd have to question whether you know more about "counceling" than others ever will, because you can't seem to even spell it correctly.
All jokes aside, it may be a good idea to suggest seeing a counselor when giving an answer may pigeonhole you. For example, if someone feels depressed and asks a question on here and someone says "yes, you're depressed," then it can cause a misdiagnosis if that person ends up not being depressed -- say if they are suffering from bipolar disorder. The smarter and safer answer is to suggest seeing a counselor, because a counselor can take an adequate personal and medical history, and certainly know you better than someone who hears just one question that ask on here.
