ive heard alot of things about prozaz ,like people going crazy and stuff is this true?
Answers:
No. It usually just makes you less depressed. They write all that stuff about the potential increase of suicidal thoughts, but I think that's extremely rare, and mostly an issue for adolecents. They just need to tell you that for legal reasons.
I took it for about six months. I found it made me a bit jittery and it gave me the most miserable insomnia. I constanly felt like I just drank a gallon of coffee. The good news was that I was wide awake by day, even though I didn't sleep at night. Eventually I switched to Zoloft, which works better for me.
I've heard that this reaction is fairly rare. Many people complain about sleepiness with Prozac.
With all these types of meds, everyone reacts differently. What works great for one, doesn't work for someone else, so you have to keep trying till you find the one that works for you.
Despite what people say, most SSRI's are pretty safe, and if you have any side effects, you just need switch to a different one. "going crazy" is not one of the side effects.
