Social Anxiety (Disorder) : Home Remedies and/or exercise?

Could anyone give me some suggestions for things to do, that would help a person overcome social anxiety (sometimes severe)? Maybe teas, herbs, exercises? Any help will be highly appreicated. And I have a social event tonight, so the sooner the better..... Thanx :)

I did a course called attacking anxiety and depression and it really works. Because all anxiety basically is, is thoughts that are in your mind that are telling yourself to be afraid of something that is not there. This program teaches you how to train your mind not to be scared of things and once you put it to work your anxiety will decrease. when you start feeling anxiety coming on, tell yourself everything is going to be fine and that there is nothing to be afraid of over and over while taking slow deep breaths and it will go away. keep telling yourself this until it goes away. Also is what works is a herb in capsule form called valerian root. and it calms you down and works about in 20 to 30 mins. and you can get it anywhere they sell vitamins
